Supervision Overview
Online professional supervision for counsellors across Australia
The Counselling Supervision Centre provides online professional and clinical supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists seeking reflective, ethical and grounded support for their practice.
Supervision is available through individual supervision, flexible lunchtime group supervision, ongoing specialist group supervision and supervision-on-supervision.
Each pathway is designed to support your clinical judgement, ethical decision-making, reflective capacity, client safety and sustainability as a practitioner.
Finding the right supervision fit
Counselling work is shaped by context. Your supervision should reflect the kind of work you do, the systems you work in, your stage of practice and the questions you are carrying.
Some counsellors need a focused individual supervision relationship while others benefit from the connection, perspective and shared wisdom of a small group. Some need supervision that understands a particular practice context, such as EAP work, DFV and sexual assault work, complex trauma, early career practice or the responsibilities of supervising others.
This page gives you an overview of the supervision options available through the Centre.
Individual Professional Supervision
Individual supervision offers a focused one-to-one space to reflect on client work, ethical questions, risk, therapeutic process, use of self, documentation, professional development and the realities of sustaining good practice.
This option may suit you if you want continuity with one supervisor, privacy for complex material or tailored support for your particular practice context.
Fee: $170 per 60-minute session, including GST.
Lunchtime Group Supervision
Lunchtime Group Supervision is a small, flexible 60-minute online group for counsellors who want timely support around a current question, practice issue or moment of uncertainty.
This group is open to counsellors across different practice contexts. It may suit you if you want accessible supervision, occasional group reflection or a space to think something through without committing to an ongoing group block.
You do not need to arrive with a polished case presentation. A question, concern, stuck point or “I need to think this through” is enough. This group is run (almost) every Wednesday at 12pm AEST, limited to a maximum of 4 participants and can be booked on a last-minute/ad hoc basis, space allowing.
Fee: $99 per 60-minute session, including GST.
Ongoing Specialist Group Supervision
Ongoing specialist group supervision is designed for counsellors working in particular roles, practice contexts or areas of complexity.
These groups provide a consistent space to reflect with practitioners navigating similar pressures, ethical questions, client presentations and systems. Over time, the group becomes a place of shared learning, professional connection and deeper reflective practice.
Current or developing specialist groups include:
Fee: $399 per person, including GST, for a block of 4 × 90 minute sessions.
Which supervision option should I choose?
Individual supervision may be the best fit if you want privacy, continuity, tailored reflection or support with complex client, ethical or practice issues.
Lunchtime group supervision may suit you if you want flexible, timely support around a current question or practice issue, without joining an ongoing group.
Ongoing specialist group supervision may suit you if you work in a particular context or role and want a regular reflective space with practitioners navigating similar practice realities.
Supervision-on-supervision may suit you if you supervise students, emerging practitioners or other counsellors and want space to reflect on the responsibility, ethics and relational complexity of the supervisory role.
